The Birth ConciergeFrom Conception to the Birth of a Dream
Jessica Chapman founded The Birth Concierge after discovering during the birth of her second child that no matter who you are, or how you’ve planned and prepared, birth unfolds in it’s own way…in it’s own time, and can leave a mother and new family feeling in need of a village of support.
Her desire to combine her long standing call to be a birth worker with the gap in services she experienced through her own journey to motherhood led her to help others as they navigate their own way through this often overwhelming path to parenthood. Many services in the birth world focus primarily on the birth and immediate postpartum period, but do not address that beyond the medical event. This leaves large gaps in preparation, education, birth, and the postpartum period for many families.
The Birth Concierge addresses this disparity through education, guidance, and specialized services while addressing many of the questions that have been left unanswered.

I have been called to birth work for as long as I can remember, although my path hasn’t always been so straightforward or clear. Like all journeys worth taking, there have been many twists, turns, and challenges leading me to the place I am today. Prior to birth work, I was employed as the Microbiologist for a large winery in Sonoma County, until an opportunity to work as a Neuroscience Consultant for a Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company appeared. Working in Corporate America for nearly a decade taught me valuable lessons I am able to apply to my own business: a personal understanding of the journey and obstacles a new mother must face upon re-entering the work environment, the ability to lead and facilitate dynamic workshops in front of both small and large audiences, and a tremendously thick skin.
I have had three very unique birth experiences. I believe each birth is transformative, and has its own learning opportunities. Along my journey, I have learned this: No matter what we plan, there is only so much in our control, a woman/mother cannot be defined by her birthplace or outcome, and we all need a village filled with compassionate individuals in our darkest of moments.

I am in awe of birth. One of my great loves is witnessing the unfolding of woman to mother, man to father, couple to family. Something miraculous happens as an infant takes it’s first breath; as life enters that little body everyone in the room is forever changed. One of the greatest gifts of my work is watching a woman work through & confront her fears head on; to choose to push through them rather than run away in order to meet her child.
I believe each pregnancy, birth, couple, and emerging family is completely unique and requires individualized care. Our mission is to help individuals, their partners, and families navigate and prepare for pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Your birth space is sacred, I do not take this invitation lightly.
